The stage drama Rathu Hettakari was first produced and staged in 1974 by Lucian Bulathsinhala. It became one of the most acclaimed Sinhala stage productions of its time and won several awards at the 1974 State Drama Festival, including Best Script, Best Music, and Best Actor.
