Globe Theatre Dunedin

Globe Theatre Dunedin Dunedin's theatre-in-a-house, established in 1961, by Patric and Rosalie Carey, at 104 London St.

Founded by Patric and Rosalie Carey when they extended the living room of their house in London Street into an auditorium, converting it into a small, 30 seat theatre which they called The Globe. We are now a 70 seat theater putting on an eclectic mix of new and old, new Zealand and foreign plays for your viewing pleasure.

Premiering at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, and then running for 364 shows on BroadWay…
The Dinner Party is now making its way onto the Globes own stage!

Written by Neil Simon, widely regarded as one of the most successful, prolific, and performed playwrights in theatre history, The Dinner Party invites audiences to experience the pathos and bewilderment of love, and to feel affection for the foolish mortals navigating it.

From the 20th-30th of August, Director Matt Brennan will be bringing his one-act comedy to life.

Dunstan High School Class of 2020 alum, Juliet Capulet (aka Cait Gordon), led a QnA with the 51 super tauira from her Alma Mater, who came to last night’s show. Actor Daniel Mason and director Brent Caldwell joined Cait as they shared stories of the vision, adaptation, auditions, rehearsal process, and production of our sold-out season.

Globe Theatre Dunedin greatly appreciates the support of dedicated kaiako like those from Dunstan High School, who immerse their tauira in Ngā Toi.
