It’s been a big weekend for a lot of the Dunedin players with the big LSNZ Invitationals Tournament taking place at Megazone Silverdale.
Dunedin sent up 13 players all on mixed teams with Rooster leading The Hen House, insomnia taking charge on the Nameless, Dari co-captaining Space Groove and other Dunedin players filling spots on LIIT and Legalise Sneak Takes.
We’re all extremely proud of Grooty, Dunedin’s only E grade player to head up and the only Dunedin player returning with a trophy. Massive achievement and we’re looking forward to see him improve even more for next year! He performed well across the board with his team LIIT ending the competition in 3rd and his triples team (Dari & Rogue) finishing up in 5th overall.
Dari, with her partner thebmw, came 5th overall in doubles (with both of them ending the competition with some pretty gnarly injuries…) and Traitor, and his partner Popeyes, finished the event in 7th.
Rooster was the highest placing Dunedin player in the new Tag Team event coming 4th overall with her partner Popeyes, with highest Dunedin pair being CDOGG and Xeta who ended the event in 6th overall.
We had 5 players make it through to Solos finals this year with their final placings being: Cyborant in 18th, Dikaiopolis in 15th, Xeta in 14th, Feel… in 12th, and Dari just missing out on a trophy in 4th place.
Overall very very proud of all of our Dunedin players and looking forward to the upcoming Invercargill competition and a big year for competition in NZ in 2024!
