Nothing beats those pre-gig moments of anticipation: the crowd chants, the lights go dim…. shapes appear on the stage, a chord rings out. And then, as the instruments swell to a crescendo, white lights swirl in all directions, before exploding into chaos. Beautiful chaos. Lighting. It’s what we do, and what we love. It would be our pleasure to work with your and put our expertise at your service.

Southern Lights are always proud to support the cancer society's Relay for Life.

Te Ara Toiora (Relay for Life) is an inspiring community event that gives everyone a chance to whakanui (celebrate) people who have or have had cancer and the people who care for them; maumaharatia (remember) loved ones lost to cancer; and tū atu (fight back) by raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Society.

This years event took place at the University of Otago on 28/29 March. Thanks to everyone who got involved, and the cancer society for your mahi 💕

One of the more glamorous events in our calendar, we LOVE to light the catwalk for the biennial iD Fashion Show at the Dunedin Railway Station.

Behind the bedazzle of the 2 shows is 9 days of building from start to finish, and over 500 hours of Labour from our dedicated crew. Using over 240m of pipe, 80m of truss and approximately 2 kilometres of cabling we light the 115m raised catwalk with over 150 LED lights.
