💜🌌 **A Rare STEVE Capture in New Zealand – An Aurora Chaser’s Surprise! 🇳🇿📸**

As an aurora chaser, I’m always looking for opportunities to photograph the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis).

Last year, during a powerful solar storm, I used two cameras to photograph the aurora. While one camera was focused on the southern sky, I randomly took a few photos of the northern sky with my second camera, never imagining I would capture something so special!

When I reviewed my photos later, I discovered **STEVE (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement)** — a rare, aurora-like atmospheric phenomenon that often appears as a stunning purple or pink ribbon across the sky. 💜
