My name is Kophie and I have been commissioned to do a concept for a mural on Stanmore Road on the new building that's just popped up on Stanmore, aroundi-sh 91 Stanmore Rd, opposite Peaches Cafe. Part of the brief of the mural is community engagement and hearing inputs and ideas for the wall to inform the concept which is based on the area, ideas could be around
Portrait/People/animals subjects
Stories of the area
Patterns/motifs that express different cultures/ideas narratives
Flora & Fauna

I am having a drop in session just outside the wall on Sat 31st of January between 12pm to 1pm, please come along and share your thoughts and ideas.

Stanmore Central people. Anyone interested in supporting a Council backed music/dance street event on Stanmore Corner in April?

You'd represent 'us locals', helping bring 'more of us locals' to the event, especially youth and families, like the young performers who will be bringing their fire to the street. Maybe it's the start of something bigger?

Re: Nice Local Project - join us at the Tool Lendery!

My name is John, and I live just around the corner on Hereford Street.

I’m reaching out to people and businesses in the Stanmore shops area to share some exciting news about a local project I’ve been working on.

Earlier this year, I helped arrange the handover of the Tool Lendery to a not-for-profit group in our community. You may know the purple container at 95 Stanmore Road, previously owned and operated by Gapfiller. It was going to be moved to another part of Christchurch, but thanks to the generosity of local/landowner Matthew Talbot (who wants to see more people reclaiming our community space), the Tool Lendery is staying with us. It is now being relocated to the site at the corner of Worcester Street.

The Tool Lendery will provide locals with access to handy tools at a much lower cost than buying or renting them elsewhere.

I’ll be in touch again soon with more details about the project, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

In the meantime, on Saturday, 9 November at 11am, I’ll be giving the container a long-overdue water blast and spring clean. You’re very welcome to stop by for a chat, and if you’d like to lend a hand with a brush or some scrubbing, that would be great too 🙂

I look forward to talking more about this project and other positive things happening in our shopping area.

This wonderful local mobile refillery will be parked up on Stanmore Corner soon, and Stanmore Block will be home to the hub. We know we're on a busy commuter route, and a cycle highway, and there's a whole bunch of locals who can now walk in for their home staples. Limited hours initially, and free local delivery will be available, once up and running. More things for more people! More details soon!
