I've been a big fan of Taylor since debut so naturally with big announcement this morning, it was very exciting news!

I’ve been living and breathing weddings lately (also engaged & planning a wedding so thinking about weddings even more than usual).

Is the wedding industry actually inclusive?

This one’s been sitting heavy with me lately. As a q***r vendor (and someone planning my own wedding next year!), I keep noticing how often the industry claims to be inclusive, but still misses the mark — using gendered language, only showcasing straight couples, or treating q***rness like a trend.

I wrote this because I know we can do better. Representation in styled shoots and wedding spaces isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s about safety, joy, and genuinely celebrating love in all its forms.

This bouquet had all the characteristics I've seen before - dramatic, high-maintenance, a little messy... just how I like ’em.

Floral foam is the devil & mean that literally 💀

It’s toxic, it’s microplastic, and it still somehow shows up in flower arrangements all over the world.

1 brick = 10 plastic bags.
We banned plastic bags in NZ back in 2019… so why are are florists still using foam in 2025?

We don’t touch the stuff at FBJ. Not for weddings, not for funerals, not for anything.
Just flowers. No shortcuts. The way they should be.

Would you ever ask your florist if they use foam? Is it important to you?

Charmaine & Josh got married up at Waipuna Estate last year, looking out over the city, surrounded by their favourite people and most importantly, their dogs.
Josh caught me halfway through setting up the ceremony flowers, said “Wow” and pulled out his phone to start taking pics 🥹 That’s how you know the flowers are doing their job.
