The African diaspora represents a significant pool of skills, professional expertise, business networks, capital, and market knowledge that can help bridge commercial relationships between Countries.
Rather than only asking what our governments can do, perhaps we should also ask: What practical projects can we, as Afropreneurs, professionals and business leaders, develop together that demonstrate success and attract larger investment? What a milestone!

Last Saturday, 8 November 2025, we held the first-ever Auckland Afropreneurs Summit — and our first international summit — at AUT University in the heart of the city.

The event was a huge success! Over 70 people showed up right on time for a full day of inspiration, business insights, networking and real connection. The energy in the room was incredible.
We were honoured to welcome Hon. Mark Mitchell, New Zealand’s Minister for Ethnic Communities, who delivered a powerful address to our participants. We also heard from several respected African leaders who shared valuable insights on entrepreneurship and community leadership.

From presentations to panel discussions and practical workshops, the summit spoke directly to those looking to start, grow or scale their businesses — whether commercial or social.
A big thank you to the African communities across New Zealand, to ACOFI, and to AUT University for standing with us and helping make this a reality. Your support means everything.
This is just the beginning.

We will continue creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect, learn from each other and rise together.

✨ What an incredible day! ✨

The Afropreneurs Summit was absolutely buzzing with positive energy, powerful conversations, and meaningful connections. The room was filled with passionate entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders all working towards a shared vision — to uplift and empower our communities through collaboration and enterprise.

It was truly an honour to have the inspiring Hon. Mark Mitchell MP, minster of the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, with us, sharing his insights and encouragement. His presence added so much value to an already successful and unforgettable day.

Grateful to everyone who showed up, networked, shared ideas, and made this summit such a success. Together, we’re building stronger futures! 💪🏾🌍
