NZ Events Association

NZ Events Association The mission of the New Zealand Events Association is to provide leadership and representation to inspire a world class events industry.

The NZ Events Association (NZEA) is a voluntary organisation incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908 on 12 September 2005 with the purpose of being the industry association for event professionals in New Zealand. The NZAE was formed in response to industry demand for a recognised body to represent the burgeoning events industry in New Zealand. NZEA’s founding principle is to bring

professionals together to focus on the industry as a whole and to act as a voice for that industry and its members. This acknowledged the need for the Association and the need for education to ensure the highest standards of event delivery. The NZEA Board was appointed as part of the initial set up of the Association. The current Board is made up of influential figures in the event landscape that are practitioners with credibility and respect in the industry. NZEA has experienced considerable growth in its short history and has achieved milestones including reaching over 1,000 members, development of an educational and networking resource, annual industry conference, recognised event industry awards and a member administration service.

Planning a Christmas parade or festive event that impacts the road network?

Things have changed (for the better!) in the world of temporary traffic management for events, shifting away from prescribed practices to a more risk-based approach to keep people safe.

To explain this new approach, the new Practice Note for Planned Public Events is designed to help event organisers, RCAs, and TTM providers make smarter, risk-based traffic management decisions.

This guide helps you:
• understand when a TMP is needed
• avoid applying outdated or overly complex practices
• collaborate better with councils and contractors

Let’s make sure our Christmas parades and festive events go ahead — safely, efficiently, and with less stress. Explore the Practice Note here:
