This wasn’t really the plan. And maybe that’s why I love it so much…

A few years ago I wasn’t a florist. I started growing flowers because I loved them, followed that curiosity a little further, trained as a florist… and somehow ended up building a small business and sharing this slightly ridiculous flower-filled life with people all over the world! I still find it a little crazy!

I’m still learning. Still growing things that don’t always grow. Still changing my mind. And still figuring out where all of this might lead.

But I’m very happy I started.

So if you’ve recently found me, I’m Steve, the Naked Florist. Here you’ll find flowers, growing, floristry and the occasional reminder that it’s never too late to find something you bloody love.

Nature threw a glitch in the garden today!

This calendula has a rare sectorial chimera mutation, creating a colour split though the flower. Cross-pollination usually blends colours evenly across the whole flower, but this colour variation is from a spontaneous genetic hiccup in the bud. How amazing!?

Mother nature makes beautiful mistakes! Have you ever found a strange but beautiful mutation like this in your garden?

Busy. Happy. Blooming!

My first full week back and spring has definitely decided there’s no easing into it.

Seeds are being sown, seedlings are growing, tulips are flowering, bouquets are being made and there seems to be something new happening in the garden every time I step outside.

It’s busy, slightly chaotic and there’s already far more to do than hours in the day. And sh*tI love it!

After months of preparing and waiting, it finally feels like the garden, and the flower season, is here.

One big week down. A whole season to come!

Bring on spring. Thanks for being here and enjoying it all with me 🙏🏼
