HORSE MEASURING season starts in August.
Attached are the dates we will be measuring at our Helensville Showgrounds stand.
Please note our hours are now 9am - 11am. Prices as listed.

For measuring, enter the Showgrounds at GATE 2, park in the carpark on the left and bring your horse down to the white horse measuring shed. Bring your existing certificate with you, if it is a remeasure.
Remember to present your horse in a bridle for H&S please.
Freshly trimmed hooves are wise, if you know your horse is close to full height for their section.

If you have recently bought a horse/pony, please complete a change of ownership through the RAS at https://www.ras.org.nz/equestrian/measuring-height-certificates and download the Replacement RAS Certificate form and return to the RAS. If you are not sure it has an existing certificate, you can do a search at https://www.ras.org.nz/equestrian/horse-search.

On the day, allow yourself plenty of time - a calm and relaxed pony/horse and owner is going to give you the best measure on the day.

We look forward to seeing you on one of the dates listed. If you can't make those dates and would like to arrange a special date, call Rick at the number attached.

The Helensville A&P Show team is this week mourning for our Holst family, who have lost a beloved son/brother and grandson.

Oliver Holst grew up around the Show and like all of the Committee's families, spent many hours at the Showgrounds prepping for the Show, competing, helping in many ways, no doubt sliding down the hill in his early years, and just being an integral part of our close-knit Show community.

Ollie was a lovely lad and we will hold dear our memories of him in the livestock area, having a yarn with the other young farmers, sharing a beer with the team after a day 's hard work and his ever present cheeky grin and friendly demeanour.

Our world is sadder this week - RIP Ollie.

Arohanui to the Holst families.

If you are one of our followers from the North, you might like to take part in this fundraiser for the Northern Districts Council of the New Zealand Royal Agricultural Society. Proceeds will help pay for costs of training for our wonderful Northland Judges, plus the Show Star competition (open to all competitors at an A&P Show in the North - from Clevedon to Kaitaia). Lots of fun prizes.

NB; this is at the Whangarei Barge Showgrounds.

Thanks to another local legend, Dave Swale Earthmovers, for dropping in some gravel for our new carpark today. Swaley is a much-appreciated sponsor of the Show and can always be found in the trade area on Show day.

Cheers Dave, Wendy and team.

Our thanks to local character Allan Robinson (Robbie) for his donation towards our Showgrounds.

Robbie was a neighbour in Stewart Street for many years, at the recycling centre, and has spent his life in Helensville. There isn't much Robbie doesn't know about the town!

We have named this new carpark fence "Robbie's fence", in his honour, as a sign of appreciation.

Thanks also to Auckland Council for this project and Stanley Phillips for the construction.

Cheers all,
