We want to say a big thanks to Auckland Council and our very own Rodney Local Board. It seems that all too often people are abusing the Council and our RLB, but they are steadfast supporters of our Helensville Show and do great things for us at the Showgrounds.

So to all sectors of Auckland Council and Rodney Local Board, thank you for your support and assistance, we really appreciate what you do.

There are lots of exciting plans in the works for our 2026 Helensville Show!

The theme for 2026 is HORSES and we are thrilled to be welcoming a ring of Clydesdales & Heavy Horses and another for Donkeys & Mules. Thanks Auckland Clydesdales & The Donkey & Mule Society of NZ (Inc).

Watch this space for more exciting equine demonstrations and events, to be announced later in the year.

And of course we will still have our wonderful sheep, cattle, goats, pets, equestrian, indoor sections and the fun & famous Vets North Terrier Race!!

Save that date - Saturday 28th February 2026.

Lovely day today for the Waitemata Hunt's hunter trials at the Helensville A&P Showgrounds. Celebrating their 75th jubilee, the Hunt have created a fabulous event across three farms, using the Showgrounds as their base.

Congratulations to the organising committee for an exceptionally well thought out programme.

Two likely lads at our recent Helensville A&P Show. Our announcer all day, Andy Holst. And Shearing co-ordinator, Johnny Hildreth.

Along with Richard Bradly, these guys are integral in our grounds prep and set up before the Show.
We couldn't do it without them.
(And don't they look sweet in their matching blues!)

Cheers guys. 👏

Dairy was the theme of our recent 121st Helensville Show.

We were thrilled to welcome some new competitors to our Dairy Cattle section and to be able to hold three separate rings for Jersey, Ayrshire and All Breeds cattle.

There was also a brilliant showing of Dairy Goats, from near and far.

Thank you to the competitors who made such a great day of it, we appreciate all the hard work you put in to your animals and the effort it takes to bring them to our Show.

Pictured is Linda Wood and her Jersey cow Harvest Glen Gun Delaraine, who took out both the Supreme Jersey Cow and the Best of Dairy Exhibit. Also in the running for the Best of Dairy Exhibit was Wendy Millward and her Supreme Champion Dairy Goat Muddyvalley Carolina.

The Best of Dairy Exhibit was judged by Goat judge Rita Braem from Tauranga and Dairy Cattle judge Bernie Cox from Ashburton. Jools Topp did the honours, awarding the Rosette.

Some scenes from our busy indoor section this year. Did you pop inside and see the entries? Did you enter? ANYONE can enter these classes and everyone has a talent for at least one of these classes.

Some of fabulous entries are pictured. You have to love the knitted digger, the quirky cactus garden and the amazing weaving in the Maori Arts & Crafts, among others.

Thanks to everyone who entered.

We salute our many volunteers.

Those people who step forward to do the myriad of jobs from setting up equestrian rings, cleaning up the livestock area, writing out prize cards, marking-out trade space, helping competitors put in their entries, stocking the loos, setting-up tables and chairs, mowing the grounds, stewarding the many rings, managing the gates, erecting gazebos, making cuppas to keep everyone going, counting ribbons, inputting the Show data, creating schedules, painting and polishing, putting up signs (and taking them down!), recording results, organising judges etc.

Thank you to our Show family of volunteers for all you have done to make our 2025 Helensville Show such a success. We appreciate everything you do.
