Some flowers deserve to stay in the picking bed - which really just gives me pleasure along with the bees and butterflies floating around. This is a bearded iris and simply stunning. Our iris we use for cut flowers have just started but they get picked very tight with just a touch of colour to be seen.

Another very gorgeous hatbox that headed off to share some flower love, and in it were the last of our proteas. The hellebores are also coming to an end as the seasons slowly move. We are changing our hatboxes shortly to a more sustainable version - I’ll update as soon as we get new imagery done but I’m sure you’ll love them as much as the environment does (the flowers will be just as gorgeous, it’s just the container and what’s inside that holds them that is changing).

We are very proud to be supporting Franklin Hospice by helping to sell tickets for their Garden Ramble fundraiser. The chance to visit 15 gardens around the Franklin region across the 14th and 15th November. The garden owners will be working so hard to ensure they are looking fabulous for that weekend. How do I know - our garden is also in it!! So if you’d like to see where we grow so many of our flowers, pop into store and buy a ticket - you’ll be supporting such an amazing cause and I’m sure you’ll have an amazing weekend.

Welcome back to “What’s New Wednesday”. It’s always a very exciting day when we get a shipment of Côte Noire with new goodies. We’ve had the tulips in white and pink but please say a huge welcome to red and yellow. Are you team red or team yellow? I think I’m team red. These look so real we have customers asking us if they are real or not - actually, that’s a common question for everyone who sees our Côte Noire display.

One of our extra large bouquets heading out last week for a graduation. From picking out single stems to creating the arrangement and then wrapping it, all an art we love doing. Full of many of our goodies we’ve grown ourselves alongside flowers from other growers. A super sized Lush Pinks. What do you think?

The colour of these honesty flowers caught my eye yesterday in the picking patch, my usual honesty has a white flower. I think they must have come from seeds my Aunty gave me a couple of years ago. I don’t pick these now but wait until they turn into the seed stage and then I pick as we use dried.

This is our very first “What’s New Wednesday”. We have new things arriving all the time and have been very remiss at sharing the fun. So for our very first one, we are showing off these gorgeous new 200ml bottles of Little Biddy Spirits gin, the perfect additions of sugar dusts, dried citrus slices or edible florets from F N Lemons - NZ cocktail & baking garnishes and we couldn’t help but get these cute little cocktail rim plates at the same time. Add a little side of Tipsy Treats to nibble on and it’s all a perfect combo!! These and many more options instore now and popping up on our website shortly.
