From Miss India to Bollywood Stardom: Meenakshi Seshadri in Auckland

Crowned Miss India in 1981 at just 17, Meenakshi Seshadri went on to become one of Hindi cinema’s most admired leading ladies, with memorable performances in Hero, Meri Jung, Shahenshah, Ghayal, Ghatak and Damini.

Tonight, the celebrated actress was in Auckland for a special screening of her iconic film Damini, part of the Hindi Cinema Showcase at the BNZ Auckland Diwali Festival.

In a candid conversation, she reflected on her remarkable journey from pageantry to the silver screen, sharing stories and memorable moments from her career.
