As you may be aware, Auckland is currently forecast to experience severe weather this Saturday and Sunday, with Tropical Cyclone Vaianu tracking towards the region. This may impact your upcoming booking, so please read the following information carefully.
In 2025, ABA undertook targeted roof repairs which have reduced the number of consistent leaks. However, due to the nature of the building’s roof structure, the facility remains vulnerable during periods of extreme wind and heavy rain. As a result, there is a possibility that some courts may be affected by rain and/or moisture during play.
All players are required to take personal responsibility for their safety and wellbeing. If your court surface is wet or slippery, it is your decision whether to continue play. We will have towels and mops available on-site to assist with drying courts; however, if at any stage you consider conditions to be unsafe, we strongly encourage you to stop play.
If you are unable to continue due to unsafe court conditions, ABA will offer refunds subject to the following process:
Take a clear photo of the affected court surface
Email the image(s) to [email protected]
Refunds will be assessed based on submitted evidence, alongside facility camera footage
Given the potential for disruption, we also recommend reviewing your booking in advance and keeping our 48-hour cancellation policy in mind. Please also allow for significantly increased travel times, as traffic and driving conditions may be impacted by the weather.
Our team will be on-site as scheduled; however, we strongly encourage all players to use their own judgement when deciding whether to attend and play. The safety and wellbeing of our community remain our highest priority.
