Thanks 2025 - its been huge!

We are definitely seeing an increase in event attendance each and every year which is great news for our industry and our clients. This year, we delivered 47 conferences and events in 11 cities in Australia and New Zealand and welcomed over 16,000 attendees. That's a lot of name badges!

Abstracts closed this week for the International Coral Reef Symposium which is taking place at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in July 2026.

We've been blown away by the incredible interest in this event and have received more than 2,700 abstract submissions from across the globe.

What do we do when we're not delivering events?

Why, go to them of course! We're at the PCOA Conference at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre this week soaking up all the inspirational content within the conference theme "The Power of Connection".

Last week, a CI team was in Palmerston North for the New Zealand Society of Gastroenterology and NZNO Gastroenterology Nurses’ College 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting.

Highlights included welcoming keynote speakers from across the globe, a 5km fun run and walk around the He Ara Kotahi Bridge and Walkway and the always vibrant conference dinner. This year's theme, 'Reliving your Youth', saw every guest dressed up in an array of eyecatching costumes, all vying for the best-dressed award.

A big thanks to the Palmerston North Hospital local organising committee - it was a pleasure working with you.

Last night, CI was front and centre as guests, finalists and event partners of The Bizzies - the inaugural Business Events Awards. The awards recognise the achievements, innovation and contributions of the individuals, partners and events shaping the future of the industry.

CI Director, Rachel Cook, was a member of the volunteer committee to create the awards platform which highlights the vital role business events play in driving economic growth, fostering collaboration, and creating social impact.

The night was a resounding success with 280 attendees dressed to impress and committed to celebrating a dynamic, passionate and hard-working industry.

Since 1938, the World Conference has been hosted around the world with this year's event held at Tākina in Wellington. Top tasting

Thank you to the New Zealand International Convention Centre for their hospitality on Wednesday at The Terrace, SkyCity Auckland. Emma attended a Taste of NZICC and sampled Executive Chef, Rob Cullen's culinary creations which will be served at the new venue in 2026.

We are looking forward to working with the NZICC team and hosting numerous events at this impressive venue in the New Year.
