Well we put on a spectacular display for Fashion X 2012 on Saturday night - 19 May, 2012. We were raising money on behalf of the Howick-Somerville Rotary and the Howick Village Business Association for SPELD - children with specific learning difficulties.
With an audience of nearly 200 we showcased 22 Fashion & Entertainment sections showcasing fashion from Howick - Lily Whyte Lingerie, Victoria's of Howick, STOMP Shoes, Tom Kroons Music Works Rock Band Tees, Perfect Partners, Taking Shape, Kathryn Shirley's designs for State of The Art Headbands, beanies & fingerless gloves, Shoes on Picton, David Fels Gemtime Jewellers, Richmond Boutique, Merrell, Serafina/Jean Jones, Jacqui E, Dance Pacific, Caroline Eve, John Russell Menswear - casual & formal suiting and our featured designer Annah Stretton who has recently opened a store in Howick.
We had the wonderful Chanelle Bulluss Uxbridge 2011 XFactor winner open our show singing The Prayer, Beat Street Studios hip hop dance group - Up an Coming who were energetic and exciting and the amazingly talented 13yr old Amy Wang who sang Rolling in the Deep by Adele with her guitar.
My models were amazing - 5 children aged 7, 9 & 11, 4 males, 8 women & 3 senior citizens all of whom are members of the local Howick community.
Mary Wilson, Principal of Baverstock Oaks School was our compere for the evening and she held everything together so beautifully.
Models were styled by Soma Day Spa and Salon at 2 Picton St, Howick. Huge thanks to Soma for stepping in at the last minute!
Our featured designer for the evening was Annah Stretton who was also a major sponsor for the Fashion X event. She supported us with clothing, vouchers, HER magazine copies for the goodie bags and so much more. Huge thanks to Annah and her Howick team.
Rotary held an auction and we eagerly await the figures to come through with how much we raised for such a worthy cause.
Everyone gave their time and patience to support this amazing cause.
Huge huge thanks to you all. Another very successful event.
