Announcement: 2025 NZ PMU Conference Update

To Our Incredible PMU Community,

The last few months have been some of the most challenging of my life. What should have been a time of love and joy turned into one of the most difficult battles I've ever faced. After our unforgettable conference weekend this past July, I was overjoyed to find out I was expecting. But six weeks later, my journey took an unexpected turn when I joined the less than 10% of women diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG).

For those unfamiliar, HG goes far beyond "normal" morning sickness. While I have immense empathy for any woman experiencing nausea and sickness during pregnancy, this condition has been absolutely debilitating. I’ve faced many physical challenges before — knee surgeries, a fractured foot, slipped discs — yet none compare to the toll HG has taken. Dehydration, malnutrition, multiple hospitalizations, and losing over 13 kilos within weeks left me fearing for my health and my baby’s.

To add to the timing, my due date coincides with the week of the planned 2025 PMU Conference. While we explored the possibility of continuing without my physical presence, I realized the responsibility I carry for this event is too significant. Unfortunately, my mental and physical capacity simply isn't able to meet the demands required to deliver an event of this magnitude right now.

After deep reflection and discussions with our team, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the conference. Our new dates will move from May 2025 to later in the year. While we’re eager to announce these updated dates, we want to ensure our speakers, attendees, and the global PMU community can align with the new timeline. Every detail is being planned with care, intention, and love to create another extraordinary experience.

I’ve taken some time to share this with you because my capacity — mentally, physically, and creatively — has been deeply affected. The term “baby brain” has taken on a whole new meaning for me, and I appreciate your patience and understanding.
