The issue with Huawei as a "threat" to security is code language. Huawei IS a threat, but only to the security of other telecoms in the West because the Chinese got to a viable 5G network before anyone else did.

XDA Developers recently went hands-on with the operating system running on a P30 Pro - the device’s firmware was shown looking relatively similar to that of EMUI 9.1 but exhibited some of Android Q’s features such as improved permissions.

Huawei has already confirmed its Mate 20 Pro flagship “has already been given approval to receive Android Q as and when it is released by Google” and emphasised it anticipates a score of its other devices, such as the Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro, will also receive it.

If the Chinese tech giant does release its new EMUI 10 skin on August 9, it is unclear if Google would release Android Q for its Pixel devices on the same day.
