A little about me πΈ
I had this portrait taken back in May byCaptured by Shannonn with the intention of finally doing an βabout meβ post, because Iβm not really one to show my face much on here.
Wellβ¦ here we are three months later π Life with two little ones under five is busy!
My love for flowers started young, with my Nanaβs beautiful garden and me picking her roses to dry in the little potpourri vases around her lounge.
My mum was also a collector of dried flowers and seed pods and growing up we had a big backyard full of fruit trees, vegetables and, of course, beautiful flowers, so flowers have always been a little part of my world.
Funny enough, my career had absolutely nothing to do with flowers π I studied special effects and makeup before working in pharmacy, studied to be a pharmacy technician but that wasnβt for me, eventually becoming a retail manager.
It wasnβt until my sisterβs hens party and then my own wedding in 2019, where my friend, sister and I created all the florals, that I realised maybe flowers were something I wanted to dive deeper into. In the middle of Covid in 2020, Harrisblooms was born πΈ
What started as drying flowers and making wreaths in our front bedroom quickly grew into something so much bigger, those were such special days for me. I was still working full-time at the pharmacy, so Harrisblooms was my side hustle, but it grew so much over those two years.. I put it on hold when I fell pregnant with my Son in 2021 and after having my daughter in 2024 I knew I wanted to return to flowers, stay home with my babies and say goodbye to the pharmacy world after 16 years π€―
So in 2025, Harrisblooms came back.
One of the best parts of this journey has been the beautiful friendships Iβve made through social media and the incredibly supportive flower community.
