We first met Flaui on a zoom call after finding his credentials online. We loved that he spoke Samoan and had a good understanding of Te Reo Maori which tied both of our heritage together.

Instantly we knew we wanted to move forward and have Flaui as our celebrant for the big day.

He helped us to compile our formalities together with ease and on the day did all the background work to ensure our day ran smoothly.

When we had lost our MC, Flaui even stepped up to ensure our guests were directed to the right places until we were able to come back from our photoshoot where Flaui effortlessly handed it over to our groomsman to MC.

Overall both me and Ernie are grateful to Flaui for his guidance, advice and direction through this process. We had no idea what we were doing and he helped give us the confidence while he did his part effortlessly and gracefully to ensure we had the best day for our wedding!

From the initial meeting, we just knew from his warm presence and comforting spirit that we NEEDED Flaui to be our celebrant hahah! 

During our wedding planning, he was so much more than just our celebrant. He gave us so much insight and advice beyond the ceremony planning and for that we are deeply thankful. His dedication and passion for this is something that cannot be taught and to witness it firsthand, working alongside him was mind-blowing.

Our unique style in getting married the combination of a small official ceremony and a seperate celebration party was of no concern to Flaui whatsoever, he was ready and waiting at any point to answer any questions, guide us and support us in the lead up and showed up 100% on the day!

While all eyes are on the beginning of a ceremony, the end can be super confusing for your guests 🎉✨ this is where I come as your chosen celebrant!

Whether it's the signing of papers, sealing your union with a kiss or rallying the group photos at the end of your ceremony.... My point of difference is - I will continue to guide your guests📜 to avoid the post-ceremony guessing game, and let them know when it's officially a wrap so they can shower the bride and groom with love and congrats! 🥂

‼️How to be a great wedding guest‼️

Getting an invitation to a wedding is special.

Weddings these days come in all shapes and sizes, however some things never change.

Attending a wedding has some do’s and don’ts and here's a few tips on how to be a great wedding
guest.

🫶RSVP on time – reply to the invitation regardless of whether you’re going or not.

🫶Dress appropriately. Better to be over-groomed than turn up looking way too casual.

🫶Arrive on time for the marriage ceremony.

🫶Good manners never go amiss.

🫶Greet the hosts, introduce your partner/spouse.

🫶Ask where to put your wedding gift unless it’s obvious.

🫶Be attentive, read signs, listen to instructions.

🫶Suppress the urge to take a peek where signs say private.

🫶Never take alcohol or drugs or turn up pre-loaded.

🫶Go easy on the alcohol, drink plenty of water.

🫶Avoid smoking unless it’s made clear that it’s ok.

🫶Have your mobile phone on silent during the ceremony and reception speeches.

🫶No photos unless it’s ok. Many couples have an unplugged ceremony with no photos or social media posts.

🫶Suppress your urge to cheer, clap, whoop, whistle, interject or laugh inappropriately during the marriage ceremony and reception speeches.

🫶The signing of the marriage licence is not usually the end of the ceremony, try to avoid starting a conversation with others until after the married couple are officially announced or walk down the isle.

🫶If you’ve brought your children manage their restlessness during the formal stuff and leave the ceremony or reception with them. Many couples try to have activities for kids.

🫶After the ceremony it’s the reception then party time, however, one should never be ‘overly familiar’ with any of the bridal party or parents.

🫶Show your moves on the dance floor after the bride and groom’s first dance.

🫶Know when it’s time to leave, express your thanks and travel home safely.

A wedding is a special occasion even if it’s a tiny laid-back beach occasion.

As a guest, your role is to support the couple by making their celebration a great and memorable occasion for all the right reasons 🙌

** It's not often I get written feedback from the wedding party - usually it's the wedded couple, however in this case I have received a testimony below from a groomsmen and bridesmaid (also a couple themselves )

One the greatest things about being a celebrant is meeting new people. You form a connection as though you had known them for a long time.

One of the hardest things about being a celebrant is when the wedding is over - and you no longer have that regular contact with new people you've just met. **

No words can describe how thankful we are to have had Flaui officiate our wedding. If there was one thing we done right, it was choosing Flaui as our celebrant. From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable. Not only could he speak Samoan but his willingness to incorporate Te Reo Māori into his program was the cherry on top.

Flaui's support from day one to our wedding day has been nothing short of amazing! He had brought out another side to my husband that I haven't seen. He supported my husband with his Vows and that was so special to him and for that, he is forever grateful and can't stop singing Flaui's praises.

Weddings can be somewhat be exciting and daunting but all Flaui's continuous support has made it so stressfree. He offered services beyond just being a celebrant. Flaui is a special human and if you find someone who you've just met but it feels like you've known them for years, you keep them close. That's exactly how we feel about Flaui. We're somewhat sad that interaction with Flaui has come to an end but we will still continue to support and recommend Flaui from afar.

Flaui, we wish you nothing but the very best and know that you are made to do this. Continue to be great. Continue to spread joy to others and most off all, don't ever stop being the helpful, supportive person you are. We were blessed with the best and know that all other clients will have the same experience we had.
