I met with a family today, who just lost their Dad - he was only 55 years old.
I have the honour of officiating at his funeral in a few days and I spent a few hours with family and with this man’s only child, his daughter who is the tender age of 16.
She is sad and broken but most of all determined, she is writing a personal tribute which she will read at the service. She is so brave.
It was 7 years ago, today that I lost my Dad so this meeting was personally surreal, special and to be honest a gift.
Grief is such a personal journey, there is no right way to farewell someone. The way you choose to say goodbye is the the right way and everyone is different.
