We get asked often if we can set up Softplay outdoors!
The answer is YES, we do! BUT…
There are a few things you need to know before planning that outdoor setup ⬇️
🌦️ WEATHER!
We only set up outdoors if the weather is looking fine.
If there’s a forecast for rain or high winds, unfortunately, we’ll play it safe and won’t be able to set up outdoors. Even if the sun is shining in the morning (cue Auckland weather) and there could be a downpour right at party time 😅😂.
It’s always best to be prepared, especially this time of year, with a backup plan. Whether it’s under a carport, in a garage, or splitting the setup to fit inside, we’re more than happy to accommodate.
But please know — if rain is forecast, we take the safety of your tamariki and our equipment very seriously. So no outdoor setups if the weather isn’t looking great 👍.
☀️ SUPER HOT DAY
On the flip side, if the weather is beautiful but it’s forecast to be scorching hot 🥵, we HIGHLY recommend setting up under some kind of shade or shelter. Whether it’s beneath trees or with hired umbrellas, some cover is a must!
Our summer heat can make Softplay pieces warm to touch (ouch for little hands!) and may also cause fading on our leather items.
So YES — outdoor Softplay is totally doable, and we actually LOVE them…
as long as the weather behaves and we have a plan B ready, just in case. 💕
