After years of planning and coordinating weddings, we’ve learned that the most memorable wedding days aren’t necessarily the ones with the biggest budgets or the most elaborate styling.
They’re the ones where the couple gets to be fully present.
The ones where Mum isn’t setting tables before the ceremony.
The ones where the bridal party isn’t answering supplier calls while getting ready.
The ones where there is a clear plan, someone steering the ship, and everyone is free to enjoy the day.

If there’s one piece of advice we’d give every couple, it’s this: focus on the things that will have the biggest impact on how your day feels, not just how it looks.

Beautiful weddings are wonderful.
But calm, joyful, present weddings? They’re unforgettable.

Knowing that while you’re laughing with your bridesmaids, sharing a quiet moment with your parents, or taking a deep breath before walking down the aisle, someone is carefully bringing your vision to life behind the scenes.

You spent months dreaming of this day.

After years of planning weddings, we’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what couples almost always wish they’d done differently.

So here are 3 hills we’d happily die on as wedding planners:

✨ 1. Focus your budget on a few key moments.

Most couples have a budget, and that’s completely normal. Instead of spreading your styling budget across every corner of your wedding, choose a few areas to make a real impact. Think ceremony backdrop, reception tables, entrance moments, or anywhere your photographer will spend a lot of time. A focused budget creates a much stronger overall look than trying to do a little bit of everything.

✨ 2. For marquee weddings, a coordinator isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.

Marquee weddings are beautiful, but they come with a lot of moving parts. Furniture deliveries, styling setup, vendors arriving throughout the day, timelines to manage… the list goes on. The last thing you should be doing on your wedding morning is directing suppliers or setting tables with rollers in your hair. Leave the logistics to someone else so you can actually enjoy the day.

✨ 3. Decide on your three non-negotiables early.

Sit down together and identify the three things that matter most to you as a couple. Maybe it’s incredible food, an epic dance floor, beautiful florals, or live music. Whatever they are, let those priorities guide your decisions and budget throughout the planning process. When things start to feel overwhelming, these become your anchor points and make decision-making so much easier.
