What an honour for me to marry these two - Sarah and Ben at Camp Rangi Woods in Pohangina, Ashhurst.
The Bush chapel with its beautiful canopy was such a perfect setting for this wedding.

I love to use candles for ceremonies of all types and wanted to share this photo. These gorgeous beeswax candles burning on top of a rustic wine barrel, created a beautiful warm glow throughout a Memorial Service for a much loved lady❤

Honoured to be a part of a lovely small family wedding today here at The Olde Creamery. On a wet and dismal Waikato afternoon, this gorgeous place has just the right warm inviting room for such a special event.
Whatever the size wedding, this place is perfect.

Welcome to 2019!
Have you considered an evening wedding? I recently had the honour of marrying a very special couple one evening just after sunset.The fairy lights surrounded us and provided a beautiful backdrop to what was a magical ceremony.
An important part of the ceremony involved the lighting of the couple's Unity Candle. The first two individual family candles were lit by the mothers of the couple at the beginning of the ceremony, and once the couple had been married they used their family candles to light the central Unity Candle, and then extinguished the individual candles.This couple were now ONE family.
This was a beautiful way to also acknowledge the important religious beliefs of one of the families.
Candle lighting is a very profound enactment for many ceremonies - from weddings, to naming ceremonies, to funerals.

What an honour to have been part of a beautiful and deeply moving ceremony yesterday. This location overlooking the Mighty Waikato River - a river with its wealth of legend and romance, has long been considered a Taonga or treasure to those who have lived along its banks. Just beautiful, and so meaningful to those there yesterday.

Recently returned from my son's wedding on Madeira Island, Portugal - I am still buzzing!
What a fabulous wedding it was joining two beautiful people, two families and two cultures. There is something very special about the joining of couples who bring two cultures together, and especially where there are families who treasure and value their extended families. A very gorgeous touch at this wedding was the handwritten place names for every guest. It was the job of the bride's sister to hand write well over 100 individual names! This was a really lovely way to acknowledge place names at a garden wedding and reception.
Another very meaningful and poignant symbolic feature was the Portuguese and New Zealand flags either side of the seating plan.
