Mount Kailash stands at 6,638 meters in the remote region of western Tibet. It is revered as the sacred abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Hindu texts describe it as the center of the universe and a place of eternal meditation. Buddhists, Jains, and followers of Bon also hold it as a holy site. Every year thousands of pilgrims undertake the Kailash Kora, a 52 km circumambulation of the mountain, believing it purifies the soul and brings spiritual merit.
