**Guinness World Record**
A South African group, Madswimmers, led by founder Jean Craven, achieved a new world record for the highest altitude swim at 6,405m located mid-west of Nepal in Dhaulagiri VII Range.
Notable team members include sports personality Vanes-Marie DuToit, filmmaker Neo Mokuene, and world champion ice swimmer Deniz Kayadelen from Switzerland. This accomplishment surpasses the previous record of 5,900m set in the Andes in 2015, later topped by Australian Daniel Bull in 2020 at 6,370m. Beyond the thrill of adventure, their mission sheds light on the urgent issue of climate change.

The Everest Extreme 135 Mile Trail Marathon began its third edition from Jiri on Sunday, attracting 14 runners from 6 countries including Russia, America, Canada, China, Australia, and Japan. This marathon aims to highlight the historic Everest route. Following the path used by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay for the first ascent of Mt. Everest, it winds through Solukhumbu's iconic landmarks from Jiri to Thame, Namche, Rinzo La Pass, and culminates at Everest Base Camp. Runners will embark on this challenging journey before returning to Lukla to conclude the marathon with a maximum time limit of 150 hours. The Everest Extreme 135 Mile Trail Marathon stands as the ultimate test of endurance and determination.
