The government has formed a five-member committee to investigate problems related to music royalties, copyright, and intellectual property rights in Nepal’s music industry. The team has been given 10 days to submit its report.
The committee will look into issues like copyright violation, illegal use of music, unpaid royalties, and the misuse of songs affecting artists, creators, producers, and other rights holders. For many musicians, this could be an important step toward making sure their work is respected and their earnings are protected.
