🤝 We are looking for someone who loves to combine creativity, service, and leadership. This is a full-time position, and you will report to the operations manager and be responsible for a team of twelve employees.⁠

🕛 The working hours will vary between daytime, evenings, and weekends. Applications will be reviewed continuously, and the position can be filled before the application deadline. Start date is by mutual agreement.⁠

🌟 Faces Behind Our Places: Meet Natalie, General Manager of Dr. Jekyll's Pub 🥃

From Malmö, Sweden, with Polish roots, Natalie has had an incredible journey that’s taken her from washing dishes working alongside her dad in a catering company at 14 to running one of the most exciting whisky bars in Norway – Dr. Jekyll's Pub.

🍹 Natalie’s Story:
Her hospitality adventure began with making milkshakes and ice cream floats at 15, then carried her through Pizza Hut, Espresso House, and hotel breakfast service before diving into the bar and nightclub scene at 18. A spur-of-the-moment bet during a visit to Tønsberg led her to Norway at 21, where she landed straight into Jekyll’s…and never looked back!

Now, after 11 years of climbing the ranks – from bartender to bar manager, assistant manager, and now general manager – Natalie has helped shape Jekyll’s into what it is today:

🥃 A whisky bar that’s fun, accessible, and anything but snobby. “Our mission is to show that whisky isn’t just for older gentlemen. You can mix it with anything, drink it in any glass you want, and still enjoy it!”

🌍 Proudest Moment?
Winning Best Specialist Bar in Norway at the Norse Bar Awards – three years in a row! 🏆

💡 Fun Fact:
Natalie is a triplet! (And the oldest by 11 minutes and 28 seconds – not that she’s counting!) 👶👶👶

Dr. Jekyll’s has big dreams to expand its recognition beyond the Nordic region. With Natalie at the helm, the future looks bright – and a little bit whisky-soaked! 🥃💛

Burns Night Success at Abelone Kjøkken & Bar! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Last Friday, we hosted an unforgettable evening at Abelone Kjøkken & Bar to celebrate the legacy of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns. Led by our good friend Chris Maile from Whisky Consulting AS—a true Scot and master of traditions—the evening was a delightful mix of culture, history, and, of course, delicious food and whisky.

Our cozy venue was the perfect backdrop for this special event, complete with a specially curated 3-course menu that paid homage to the rich traditions of a Burns Supper. Chris upheld the cherished customs, ensuring an evening full of Scottish spirit and charm:

The Order of the Evening:
🎵 Piping in Guests: Chris welcomed everyone with traditional Scottish tunes on the bagpipes.
🎙️ Welcoming Speech: Chris set the tone with a heartfelt opening address.
🙏 Selkirk Grace: The traditional Scottish grace was recited:
"Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit."
🍲 Soup Course: The evening began with a warm, traditional Scottish soup.
🥁 Piping in the Haggis: The highlight of the night—Chris ceremoniously brought in the haggis (carried by our head checf, Slone, accompanied by his bagpipes.
📜 Address to a Haggis: A spirited recital of Robert Burns’s famous poem celebrating the haggis.
🍽️ Main Course: Haggis served with “neeps and tatties” (mashed swede and potatoes)—a true taste of Scotland.
🍮 Dessert and Cheese: Guests enjoyed classic Scottish desserts followed by oatcakes and cheese.

The atmosphere was lively, the food delicious, and the traditions inspiring—a wonderful night was had by all. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

We’re thrilled to announce that Ole-Fredrik and Rene have officially passed their wine sommelier exam through Norsk Sommelier Utdannelse, joining the prestigious ranks as Resthon’s 6th and 7th certified wine sommeliers!

This achievement marks the culmination of a year-long journey of hard work, dedication, and passion for wine (hard work that we don't think either of them minded at all 😅).

A special shoutout to Ole-Fredrik, who works at Grønland Boulebar & Spiseri, for winning the Best Blind Tasting section out of nearly 50 students—an incredible accomplishment that highlights his exceptional palate and skill. 👏 And a huge cheer for Rene, from Abelone Kjøkken & Bar, for his dedication and expertise!

🌟 Faces Behund Our Places: Meet Ole, Assistant Manager at Grønland Boulebar & Spiseri 🌟

💬 “If you’re a guest here, you’ll see me at Grønland Boulebar—it’s as simple as that!”

Ole hails from the small town of Kråkstad, Norway, a place where everybody knows each other. Growing up, he often traveled to Oslo to enjoy the best of both worlds. After exploring different jobs in Kråkstad, Ski, and Stavanger, he found his way to Oslo following a year-long backpacking adventure.
Ole’s journey with Resthon began when he applied for a waiter position. Within just two weeks, he was promoted to ‘Hovmester’, and a year later, he became the Assistant Manager of Williamsburg Bab & Beer, Resthon’s newest venue at the time. After 2.5 years of growth and navigating the challenges of the pandemic, Ole transitioned to Grønland Boulebar, where he’s now thriving as Assistant Manager.

💬 “This is the best job I’ve ever had in a restaurant or bar setting. We’ve got an incredible team, a top-notch kitchen, and a unique concept that keeps things fresh and exciting every day.”

Grønland Boulebar is a vibrant hub offering something for everyone. From live jazz on Tuesdays, opera pub nights, and quizzes, to corporate events and boule tournaments, Ole plays a key role in making the venue a cultural melting pot in the heart of Oslo.

He’s also taken on a fun new challenge as the face of Grønland Boulebar’s social media, a role he’s grown to love. Looking ahead, Ole is determined to:

✅ Highlight big-screen sports events.
✅ Make boule the go-to activity—it’s fun, easy, and perfect for groups or company events.
✅ Continue building Grønland Boulebar as a vibrant, social hangout.

🎸 Fun facts about Ole: When he’s not at work, Ole is a sports enthusiast (football, handball, volleyball—you name it!), a skilled guitarist, and a passionate wine lover. He has in fact, just passed his wine sommelier exam so he is now Resthon’s 6th certified wine sommelier.

Faces Behind Our Places: Meet Johanna, General Manager of Abelone Kjøkken & Bar & Grønland Boulebar 🤩

We’re thrilled to introduce our first female manager representative on this list: Johanna, who hails from Gotland, Sweden! 🇸🇪

In 2014, Johanna moved to Oslo, seeking a change of scenery and better opportunities. She was drawn to Norway for its attractive salaries, opting to avoid the Swedish mainland. With a broad educational background and no clear direction at first, she never imagined she would find her passion in the food and beverage industry. That passion ignited when she worked as a waiter at Et Glass, where she humorously recalls having to research how to make a margherita on her way home from the interview. 🤣🍸

In 2018, Johanna joined Hotel Bristol, marking the beginning of her journey with Olav Thon Gruppen. She enjoyed her role as assistant restaurant manager and eventually became the restaurant manager at Vinterhaven, a grand and traditional venue. However, she soon realized that the atmosphere there was a bit too formal for her laid-back personality. Seeking a new challenge, she transitioned to Paleo at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz, but when COVID hit, she pivoted to become the assistant manager at Williamsburg Bab & Beer, Resthon’s latest venture.

In October 2022, Johanna found her perfect fit when she was offered the position of general manager at Abelone Kjøkken & Bar. The cozy, edgy vibe of the venue resonated with her, as it allowed for a more personal connection with both her team and the regular guests. Just a year later, in March 2024, she also took on the role of general manager at Grønland Boulebar.

Located at Klubbgata 1, this will be the largest O’Connor’s in the Resthon family, boasting over 500m² of space and a capacity for 350 guests. 🏃‍♂️ Huge congratulations to our Resthon Runners! 🏃‍♀️

We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues Sigurd and Mathilda, who took on the & this past weekend! 🙌

For Sigurd, it was his third marathon, and he crossed the finish line in under 4 hours! 🔥 Mathilda also had an amazing race, completing her first ever half marathon in just over 2 hours. Both of them rocked their Resthon Runners t-shirts and represented us with incredible times and energy! 💪

It was a perfect day for running, and we want to send a big shout-out to all the participants who challenged themselves and made the event unforgettable.

Congrats again, Sigurd & Mathilda—what an achievement! 🎉👏
