Meet our CQB & Weapon Instructor

A 2nd-generation Air Mobile Brigade infantryman, Instructor 1 is para-qualified with operational experience from the Balkan War in ’94. He served at HQ Allied Forces Central Europe and brings deep expertise in CQB, reconnaissance, and strategic operations. Now an active LEO with Close Protection (CP) expertise and a SPEAR System instructor, he ensures every TAA trainee builds a combat-ready mindset grounded in real operational experience.

Grip wins fights. If your hold is weak, everything else follows. Lock it in, control the recoil, and make every shot count.

• Solid support hand = less muzzle rise
• High, close grip = better recoil control and faster follow-ups
• Pressure, not panic — firm but relaxed
• Index finger discipline: off until you’re ready
• Maintain grip through reloads and malfunctions

Ballistic Shield — Purpose & Principles
A ballistic shield is a tool for protection and momentum. Use it to create cover, control sightlines, and lead the entry — not to hide behind.

• Positioning: Shield high to protect head/torso, angle to deflect rounds.
• Movement: Move as a unit — shield first, teammate clears and flows behind.
• Communication: Call movement and target info clearly — the shield operator sets tempo.
• Limitations: It’s heavy, has blind spots, and doesn’t make you invulnerable. Train with it so handling becomes instinct.
