🍵 The Chinese tea ceremony is a beautiful tradition that honours family ties, the union of two families and showcases the couple’s gratitude. 💖 On the wedding day, the bride & groom kneel before their elders—parents, grandparents, and other family members—to serve them tea. The bridesmaids often help in the ceremony as assistants. After the elders sip the tea, they offer red envelopes (hongbao or lai see 🧧 ) filled with money, symbolizing their blessings and approval. The choice of tea varies but always comes with red dates, lotus or lily reflecting luck, fertility and longevity.🪷❤️

Hey there, future brides and grooms!💍 I am Danique Engelberts and I am the wedding planner behind DEWE!

A little about me. With my background in Hospitality, I absolutely adore unforgettable experiences whether in stores, hotels just any kind of service. I am a planning freak. Just ask my friends, family and boyfriend- they’ll tell you about my precise schedule to the minute. ⏰ Despite my love for structure, I love doing spontaneous things! But, can we plan it? 😁

To unwind, you’ll find me on the yoga mat or the reformer pilates, savoring a cup of coffee in cozy cafes, getting a manicure or indulging in a shopping spree—especially when it’s the personal shopping sessions for someone else. I really enjoy doing the things for people that make them happy. When wedding talk begins, my enthusiasm knows no bounds: we might end up chatting endlessly.

A multicultural wedding gives you boundless opportunities, by merging to cultures. While planning your wedding you’ll want to discover about all the wedding traditions and customs of the other culture.

Just as much as you want to know what you need to do or say during certain traditions so do your guests. Often your loved ones have a role at the ceremony. It being the father walking the bride down the aisle in western traditions, or giving the puffed rice for the fire ceremony for Hindu wedding ceremony or negotiating the entrance of the groom with the bridesmaids in Chinese traditions. Make sure you take some time to talk with them about the specifics in the ceremony. Even things like taking off their shoes before stepping on the Mandap.
