Roodkapje offers a unique multidisciplinary breeding ground for young talent in a dynamic, riotous and multi-voiced program. Our location is both an exhibition venue, concert hall, nightclub and hamburger restaurant. The cultural program happens in every nook and cranny and from noon till the early morning hours. We believe a hamburger can be art and celebrate both the low- and the high brow. We travel beyond existing art forms and break through boundaries and binaries. Roodkapje was founded in Rotterdam in 2000 by Eric den Hartigh. Over the years, Roodkapje has grown into a multidisciplinary platform for presentation and talent support for young artists, musicians, performers and programmers in the heart of Rotterdam. Roodkapje is multi-voiced, energetic and supportive and offers a space to explore, experiment and execute. At Roodkapje you can move from mosh pit to hacking workshop to delicious (vegan) kapsalon. Our program is mostly produced in-house by the residents in the Hamburger Community of Art and Live. This nine-month residency houses six people every year who develop their ideas supported by Roodkapje’s staff, visiting mentors and experts from the cultural field. The artists and event-programmers work together to create interdisciplinary happenings and publications. These ideas are presented directly to our audience, making the public program into an experimental test-site for unpredictable and unprecedented accidents. Next to the Hamburger Community, Roodkapje works closely together with co-producers and local partners that fit within our vision and who mentor the residents. Roodkapje invites interdisciplinary artists (visual artists, musicians, performers, theatermakers, designers, food artists) to our laboratory for collaborative practice, collective fun and direct interaction between artists and audience. The Hamburger Community are five artists in residence that collaborate for 9 months to develop a series of Happenings together. They do so collectively, guided by mentors and by inviting in other collaborators. At Roodkapje we believe collaboration is a muscle that needs to be trained. The residency depends on collectivity for all artistic, organizational and public matters. Production budgets, conceptual development, program planning and mentor trajectories are managed and decided on together. Aside from collaborating with each other, the Hamburger Community also collaborates with Roodkapje’s team, who offer concept, production, financial and communication support. Residents of the Hamburger Community get access to Roodkapje’s collective working space and communal living room, a monthly stipend, production budget(s) and free access to all of Roodkapje’s program.

endearingly banal guitar riffs. There’s a colorful mix of storytelling, shouting and babbling. German, French, English, who cares. But with
lots of punk, synth and humor!

Schulverweis, the side project of Levente Palenka and L.F.T., released album ‘Chacha’ this year and we’ve been absolutely loving it. Also joining the lineup of the night; talented resident and close friend , bringing a live set, and our dearest will be on deck duty throughout the night.

Met de verhuizing naar een nieuwe locatie zoeken we een curator die het anarchief verder vorm gaat geven en de .community residenten gaat begeleiden in het maken van Happenings.

Vacature: Curator Happenings en anarchief, 18 uur per week in loondienst, per februari/maart 2026

We zoeken iemand die affiniteit heeft met collectief werken, ervaring heeft in de kunst- en cultuursector in een programmerende rol, bij voorkeur in performance, beeldende kunst en in de begeleiding van (jonge) kunstenaars. Iemand die kan stimuleren in de samenwerking tussen disciplines, kunstenaars en publiek.

🎨zorgt dat er een groeiend anarchief wordt gemaakt op basis van de Happenings in samenwerking met (Rotterdamse) makers en werkt aan de tentoonstelling van deze anarchiefstukken

Golomb
Formed in the fertile, raw arc of Columbus, Ohio, the trio Golomb takes a all-consuming approach to rock in 2025. Their sound moves effortlessly between psychedelic storms, power pop, dub, and country. They fuse their record collection into a fuzz-soaked blend reminiscent of Guided By Voices, Spiritualized, Built to Spill, and The Velvet Underground. Yet at its core, Golomb is all about connection — a lifeline in a world full of distraction, fear, bravado, and hypocrisy.

Ap***it is a jangle-punk band from Utrecht that delivers a energetic blend of punk, post-punk, garage, and alternative rock through furious riffs, snarling vocals, catchy hooks, and a good dose of humor.
After releasing their debut EP “Can I Be Your Monkey?” on Plato Utrecht Records and their three singles: “Hellraiser”, “She Don’t Mind” and “I’m Still Breathin” which have been well received by both national and international media. They also appeared on the on the punk compilation record “Uitholling Bovenlangs” With the song “Starcrossed”. Now they are working hard on their first album. Which will come out next year!band

Vieze Meisje
Dirty Girl is the singing, performing, and all-encompassing alter ego of Maya Mertens. With idiosyncratic poetry that is simultaneously heartwarmingly honest, sharply comic, and at times mercilessly elegant, she builds a universe where vulnerability and chaos go hand in hand. Together with producer Azertyklavierwerke, she creates a deconstructed dance ritual full of acrobatic beats, hypnotic loops, and sonic madness. The result is an elusive live experience that balances between concert, performance art, and total surrender.

After a long absence, the indie pop trio from Boskoop is back! And for good reason: over the past five years, the trio has been working hard on a completely new sound. Thanks in part to a joint pilgrimage to Lourdes and the loss of their drummer, the band members have become even closer. These shared experiences have led to a completely new sound where electronic soundscapes merge with modern house beats, without losing sight of the band’s signature sound. This is also evident on the new album, where the gospel of the Lord takes on a whole new sound in short, catchy songs. The new experimental sound is influenced by late disco and the early eighties. Expect a completely renewed WAARDELOOS.

Furthermore we have a lot of free concerts lined up this week for the Rotterdamse Popweek and a free to join talk learning how archives can be a weapon for activism with .legacy .
