From 23–25 September 2026, Maastricht will welcome the 41st Annual Congress of the EACTAIC - European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. This event will unite cardiothoracic anaesthesiologists and intensive care specialists in MECC Maastricht. The program gets underway on 22 September with a dedicated Simulation Training Day at Maastricht UMC+ .

From 29 June to 2 July, Maastricht proudly welcomed the international toxicology community for the European Society of Toxicology in Vitro ESTIV 2026 at MECC Maastricht. ESTIV President Helena Kandarova, ERT Kandarova reflect on the success of the congress and her experience of hosting ESTIV 2026 in Maastricht below.

Last week we hosted a successful Knowledge Session for the Maastricht-Heerlen-Heuvelland region at the Brand Bierbrouwerij B.V. in Wijlre.

🧿 We brought together our valued business partners and several interested new companies with a clear focus: Collaborating to drive more international congresses to the Limburg region, increase our global visibility, and create new business opportunities.

🍻 The session provided great opportunities for new connections, and we topped it all off with great conversations over a local b**r tasting by Brand’s master brewer.

For our A Word from the Expert series, we spoke with Professor Anna Wilbik about her role as Chair of the IEEE WCCI 2026: the World Congress on Computational Intelligence.

This leading international congress will take place from 21–26 June 2026 at MECC Maastricht, supported by PCO Klinkhamer Conferences & Events.
