We are proud to welcome Hotel-Restaurant Valuas in Venlo as a new partner within the Maastricht Convention Bureau network, which now includes over 100 companies. As a family-owned business with more than 45 years of history, Valuas offers a complete experience where gastronomy, accommodation, and its unique location along the River Meuse come together seamlessly.

This five-star boutique hotel features 14 rooms, a fine dining restaurant, and a brasserie, all led by chef-owner Eric Swaghoven. The terrace at Valuas offers guests a panoramic view over Venlo and the Maas, creating an inspiring setting for business gatherings.

For our A Word from the Expert series, we spoke with Professor Anna Wilbik about her role as Chair of the IEEE WCCI 2026: the World Congress on Computational Intelligence.

This leading international congress will take place from 21–26 June 2026 at MECC Maastricht, supported by PCO Klinkhamer Conferences & Events.

Together with her global network, Anna Wilbik is bringing an international community of experts to Maastricht. Over 1500 researchers will be diving into the tech behind explainable AI, neural networks, fuzzy systems, and evolutionary computing.

This congress highlighs the region’s strength as a hub for knowledge, innovation, and high-level conferences in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
