For those who are in for a proper sonic journey, here's my last Ecstatic Dance DJ-set uploaded on Soundcloud and yes, I know, it took me ages to do so...😜

The set was played last summer at the Dao Dance Festival in Germany, which is an awesome open air festival combining Ecstatic Dance, martial arts (kung fu, tai chi, bagua & more), live-music, contact improvisation, a healing area, food stands and much more.

Here's a few good memories of Dao Dance Festival in Germany last summer. 🤩👌

It was small, intimate and a very 1st tryout to see how people would respond to Ecstatic Dance on a psytrance festival, mixed with martial arts, contact improvisation and other forms of dance, movement and somatic exploration. 💃🕺

Personally I've been playing stages like Boom and Ozora Festival as well as all kinds of small intimate gatherings and nowadays prefer the latter in most cases, as it's less transient and interhuman connections in general go deeper. ☺️

Despite the incredible bad weather on most of the days, the main floor closed during several days during heavy torrential rain and unfortunately made a lot of people stay @ home instead of coming to the festival. ⛈️⛈️⛈️

The promoter is NOT giving up though and together with his awesome team, he will keep putting effort in creating a new form of conscious festival and have asked me again to participate as a DJ, which I consider as a real honor. 🙏

🗓 July 29 - August 3, 2025 - near Berlin (Germany) - 🌿 DAO DANCE FESTIVAL 🌿

In a bit less than 1 week the amazing Dao Dance festival starts, which is a beautiful initiative to bridge different worlds of martial arts, contact improvisation, ecstatic dance, progressive & psytrance & more... 💃🕺

The initiative started last year for the 1st time, so this will be the 2nd year and will be the 1st year with Ecstatic Dance as part of the program.

They gave me the honor to host the Ecstatic Dance area, as a DJ and as well as ceremony facilitator before and after the Ecstatic Dance journeys and I truly thank my dear brother Petr Pi Osadchev for that honor. 🙏

He still rememberd me from all the years I used to play my psytrance sets in and around Germany, in many clubs as well as on tons of parties and many festivals. I feel very grateful for this honor and am totally stoked to give it my very best. 🥳

He even made an extra flyer for the Ecstatic Dance sets I play and have added it here, together with the very 1st promotion flyer of this year's event, which didn't mention Ecstatic Dance yet (as I got booked in a later stage), but it will show you all the other awesome things as well as many workshops that are being offered there durig 5 days of DAO DANCE FESTIVAL...YAAAY! 🤩👌

So, dancing freaks of the Universe. 💃🕺

Here's another DJ-set which was truly a blast and blessing to put together. It was so much fun to get back to styles of music I used to play many years ago in the early 90's, which often was a mixture of subtle, beautiful and deep blissful trance & techno, mixed up with all kinds of acidic, dubby, world music and other elements.

This promo set has been made for the awesome Ambrosia Ecstatic Rave events in Amsterdam. They are looking for some fresh DJ's so I gave it a shot at possibly playing there and created a DJ-set that is fused with the typical styles they love playing at their events so much, which are trance, techno, afro-world beats, rave and other more uptempo styles of music. Their events are a total blast and truly high-energy gatherings that totally set the place on fire and lit up every present Soul and Spirit to the highest possible freaky freestyling frequencies. 🤩

That's how their style and why this DJ-set is quite different from regular Ecstatic Dance events and my other Ecstatic Dance DJ-sets over here and I truly hope you dig it and turn you into a real baboon on heat while listening to it.🥳

And none of this would have been possible without the amazing artists I came across putting this set together and I'll put the tracklist here somewhere in the coming week, as I'm still planning to change a few tracks and upgrade this set another notch. 👌

I've been postponing posting this last recorded Ecstatic Dance set of mine here on Facebook, which was due to other obligations and taking time to rest and enjoy high quality moments with family and dear friends of mine. 😊

Hello folks! 😉

Here's a bit of a last moment reminder for this coming weekend, where I'll have the honor of playing for Ecstatic Dance Emmen in the north of the Netherlands and which I'm really looking forward to.

It will be my 1st appearance under my new DJ name as DJ Sonic Sculptor, which of course is somehow something I'm not used to yet, but I'm sure the name will settle in over time.

Last november I played my last gig under the name DJ Shawnodese, a name I was honored to carry for many years since 1996 and has brought me incredible joy and many unforgettable adventures. 🥳

I totally forgot to post about it, but Ecstatic Dance Leiden was a blast on the 29th of November 2024 and which was a truly worthy saying goodbye to about two decades playing under my old name DJ Shawnodese! 🥳

The beautiful church was the perfect place for another celebration of life with lots of lovely and amazing people experiencing the magic of truly connecting with each other, which dancing their t**s off during my set.

I have recorded my DJ-set and will add the link in my next post somewhere the coming days, so stay tuned for that! 🤩

For those who are living in the North of the Netherlands or close to the Dutch-German border, I will be playing soon again, which is on the 18th of January for Ecstatic Dance Emmen.

This time it will be under my new name, DJ Sonic Sculptor and I am really looking forward to see you there!

And remember, keep dancing and celebrating life...no matter what happens! 💃🕺
