Dear film lovers and cinephiles,
On February 3, the Faculty of Arts warmly invites you to an evening of contemporary Bulgarian cinema, featuring a screening of the film Février/February (2020, 125 min.), followed by an onsite conversation with its director Kamen Kalev. The event starts at 18:00 and will be moderated by Julian Hanich, Professor of Film Studies.
Février is a contemplative, visually striking film that follows a solitary shepherd living on the margins of modern society. Through its minimal dialogue and slow, observational style, the film explores themes of isolation, routine, masculinity, and humanity’s fragile relationship with nature. Kalev’s work stands out for its poetic realism and its resistance to conventional narrative structures.
The screening and discussion are organised by Film Club FLIK, in collaboration with Study Association IK and the Faculty of Arts.
