Welcome to the Cultural Student Center of Groningen! Come to one of our events, join a course or become part of our crew!

Bij Usva kun je allerlei cursussen volgen op het gebied van kunst en cultuur. Ook organiseren we evenementen en zijn er wekelijks toffe voorstellingen te zien in ons theater. Daarnaast ondersteunt Usva studenten die een cultureel project op poten willen zetten, op zowel op financieel gebied als facilitair gebied en met kennis en kunde. Naast dit aanbod is er ook de mogelijkheid om zalen of het theater te huren.

🎞️Usva Movie Night: Flugt (or Flee 2021) is an animated documentary telling the story of Amin, a refugee who shares his journey of fleeing Afghanistan and coming to terms with his identity as a gay man.

will provide an introductory talk, speaking on their work as an NGO supporting LGBTI-refugees in the Netherlands.

Happy Pride! 🌈
This June we have a couple Pride-related events that we would like to spotlight:

On the 8th of June, we are organising a Q***r Fashion Workshop with Ganymedes and FLS. Lola Lasagna will be the night’s host, so don’t miss this!

On the 16th of June, Q***r Science will take place at Usva, a panel discussion with researchers discussing topics such as social stress, identity formation, homophobia in educational settings, and the political framing of q***r communities.

Or swing by the 18th of June! Flicks is organising a Movie Night, showing Flugt (Flee), the animated documentary that tells the story of Amin, a refugee who shares his journey of fleeing Afghanistan and coming to terms with his identity as a gay man.

Got clothes in your closet that you never wear anymore? Old skinny jeans, forgotten shirts, pieces that feel almost right but not quite you?

Come to our Q***r Fashion Workshop done in collaboration with Ganymedes. Bring an unused piece of clothing and learn how to personalise, modify, and style it with guidance from our workshop hosts, .lasagna and .groningen , the Fashion Student Society. There will be some materials and tools provided for you to work with.

You’ll get hands-on styling tips and fashion advice.
