Vera Groningen

Vera Groningen VERA is the 'Club for the International Pop Underground', in Groningen, The Netherlands. VERA is a venue featuring concerts, movies and dance nights.

It has two halls with bar: the main hall (capacity 450) and a smaller one (cap. 80) in the former vaults (dating from the 14th century). On Tuesdays you can watch an arthouse movie and on Saturdays visit a band in the Downstage bar or go to one of our dance-nights.

Turbojugend Groningen, -High-Church, -Assen and -Emmen join forces for Apocalypse North Fest, where denim and loud guitars reign supreme. From raw rock ‘n’ roll to uncompromising punk and everything in between, the lineup is built for sweaty venues, shredded vocal cords and a pit that never stops moving.

Since 2022, The Hands Off Project has found a home at VERA for their event series, tracing loose connections between punk, experimental electronics, performance and other DIY essentials that resist easy categorisation. Each edition unfolded differently, held together by curiosity rather than genre. This will be the last one.

For a final night, we’re putting together a line-up that reflects what the series has been about from the start: artists we love, unexpected combinations, and a room full of curious people. No nostalgia, no greatest hits. Just one more T.H.O.P.
