Another Workshop in the SingularityU Benelux Executive Program is the World Café.

We will host multiple rounds of group dialogues, in which you will discuss an important question or complex issue around exponential technologies. One of those questions could be “How could we leverage technology to tackle a current crisis?” or “How could we make better ethical choices with technology?”

On 5 August 2013, Mark Post presented a proof of concept for cultured meat - the world’s first lab-grown burger. This concept eventually turned into the company Mosa Meat in 2015. Recognizing his pioneering work in sustainable food production, we asked Mark to join our SingularityU Benelux faculty a year later.

Many have acknowledged the potential of Mosa Meat and the need for alternative and sustainable food sources. In 2021, Leonardi DiCaprio became an investor and advisor. Currently there’s already $96 million invested in the company.

Amongst the Mosa Meat team is a familiar face in the SingularityU community. Jonathan Breemhaar - who joined and won our Global Impact Challenge in 2017 - was one of the first employees. He has been focusing on the scalability of cultured meat.

Recently we had Ronit Elyoseph (Business Entrepreneur, VR Researcher at Advanced Reality Lab) sharing her greatest SU memories. She joined our Executive Program in 2018 and still looks back fondly to her time in The Netherlands.

Joining the EP actually shifted her professional life in a new and exciting direction. Experiencing the effective power of Virtual Reality inspired Ronit to pursue a PhD research on VR for social good.
