🍂🍁🍄 Nature walk this sunday! 🍁🍄🍂

The days are getting colder, the trees are dressed with their season's colours and it's the perfect time to look for mushrooms!🍄

We can find them sprouting in many city parks, and of course in forests and heathlands all over Europe. One of my favourite urban parks to look for mushrooms is the Philips de Jongh park in .

I was there this week and it was amazing with tens of different species of mushrooms! And I want to share the beauty of this season in this park during my next . This Sunday from 10am (so no one has to get up very early).

Back to school, back to work, back to the routines. But there is still time to enjoy the good things summertime had to offer! ☀️🏄

Outside it's still warm, the sun shines (most of the time), and lush green abounds in nature. The river Dommel is teeming with life, but it is also a peaceful place inside the busy Eindhoven.

All good reasons for me and Paula (a.k.a Supcoach) to go in the water for another Stand Up Paddle Experience, combining exploring with some quiet . 🦫👉Already this Saturday 24 august, starting at 13:30.

I am happy to say that another *Wild Foraging Walk* is coming up! 🌿 😃

Sunday 26 May, 10am, Genneper Parken, Eindhoven City.

🌱 An outdoor about the most common edible wild that we can find around us, even in any city!

We will make a sustainable wild walk along the Genneper Parken and the Dommel's margins. Here will we learn and look for wild plants that can be used as food, for tea or other uses.

[TIP: turn the sound on🎵 to listen to the melody]

We can feel the seasons are changing. 🌻Since a few weeks now, in the tree next to my house, a sings loudly every morning and evening. He is trying to attract a female blackbird's attention to its beautiful song. And so do many robins, wrens, blue t**s and other song birds in every park around us. Treecreepers and nuthatches climb up and down the trees preparing nests and looking for food.

It's a wonderful time of the year to experience the beauty of . 🐦 That's why I am organizing once more this year a short to help everyone recognize how the most common birds look and sound.

In April, it's all about the birds! 🦅🐦🪽

If you want to start recognizing or learning more about the birds that live around you, then this is your chance!

🌻 WILD FORAGING WALK 🌿

If you are curious about *urban wild foraging* we have a special nature walk for you!

🌱Coming Sunday 1st October we will make a sustainable wild foraging walk along the Genneper park and the Dommel's margins. Here we'll introduce you to some of the most common edible wild plants that we can find around us, even in cities!

No previous experience is needed and everyone is welcome. 👍

This summer Wild Eindhoven is proposing a different way of being in . A different perspective to a city, immersed in its blue and green.

I am partenering up with Paula van Loon, from Supcoach to bring you a Stand Up Paddle experience! 🏄‍♀️ We combine the best of both worlds: supping & mindfulness combined with a mini wildlife safari.

No experience is needed, as Paula will instruct you on the basics. And it's really easy to learn and start paddeling!

The first event is happening this Wednesday 7 June. Around 19h we meet, have a short welcome and explanations, then we go on the quiet waters of the . It is a perfect way to relax during the week, and June is a great month to see wild animals and plants from the water!

The other two upcoming dates are Friday 7 July and Friday 9 September. They are already online on Wild Eindhoven website as well.

What an SUPer adventure on the water it was! 🌊And an amazingly different way to see and feel the city...

Immersed in the sounds of the reed warblers, calling from both sides of the river. Witnessing little baby grebes already swimming along with their parents. Picking and smelling some fresh water mint growing on the river margins. And yes, once more, we had a lucky encounter with two of the most famous river residents: the kingfisher and the beaver! 🦫😃

All of this during last Wednesday's Mindfulness & Wildlife Stand Up Paddle experience, one of the best ways to end your workday.

My favorite moment happened when we were laying down in our board, letting ourselves be taken by the soft current of the river. I was watching the many swifts flying high above, listening to the birds singing hidden in the vegetation, feeling the soft breeze on my skin. Just letting nature exist around us.

Thank you all who joined for your energy, enthusiasm and stories! You were such a nice group of different nationalities and backgrounds.

I'm already looking forward to next month's SUP experience! 🔹Coming Wednesday 7 June at 19:00, we'll meet on the water and look for wildlife! Look for more information in Wild Eindhoven's website.

Everyone is welcome to join. No previous experience is needed at all, Paula (Supcoach) will help you with all the way!

The weekend is over and we're all back to work. But that doesn't mean we can't take a break in the middle of the week and relax in nature!

Chickw**d (Vogelmuur) is known as a stubborn w**d in our gardens. 🌱 So... why not eat it, if you can't beat it?! The small leaves and flowers give off a fresh taste and are very suitable for salads.
