#004 – Another one of Jearina I.’s Wild Venue Wednesdays

This week, Paris was meant to take the spotlight. But then Lisbon called.

Jearina and Sandra H. recently visited the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisboa with Conceição Silva, and the venue quickly earned its place in the series.

From the moment you enter, the hotel impresses with its scale and elegance: marble interiors, towering orchids, attentive service, and spacious rooms with city-view balconies. Luxury is in the details too — including a Dyson hairdryer in every bathroom.

Then came the real surprise.

The rooftop features a fully equipped gym wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Lisbon, a dedicated Pilates studio, and something Jearina had never seen before at a hotel: a full 400m athletics track on the rooftop. With panoramic city views, it’s an unforgettable feature.

For events, the hotel delivers just as strongly. The Pedro Leitão Ballroom accommodates over 400 guests theatre-style and offers impressive AV capabilities, including full LED wall installations. The terrace, which was tented during the visit, immediately sparked visions of elegant dinners, live music, fairy lights, and Lisbon’s skyline as the backdrop.

And then there’s Lisbon itself. A city that charms effortlessly with its light, atmosphere, iconic calçada streets, and unmistakable energy. After the site visit, Jearina spent time walking through the city with a pastel de nata in one hand and a bica in the other, reminded once again why Lisbon holds such a special place in her heart.

We’re not here to convince anyone to host an event in Lisbon…

But host your event in Lisbon. You won’t regret it.

In today’s digital world, if there are no photos or videos of your event, we genuinely ask: did it even happen?

At DDG Europe, we see hiring a professional photographer and/or videographer at your event as a business decision, not just a nice-to-have.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:

- 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁; Polished visuals that reflect who you are, not some blurry, tilted phone shot from a colleague who meant well.

- 𝗜𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁; Great visuals are your best marketing tool for next time. People want to be part of something that looks worth showing up for.

- 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴; One event can fuel weeks of posts, newsletters, and pitch decks. That’s serious ROI on a single afternoon.

- 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻; Team members, speakers, partners and clients love being documented professionally. It shows you value their presence.

- 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆; Clients and prospects see a company that takes itself seriously. Which makes them take you seriously too.

You spent months planning that event, don’t let the memory disappear within 24 hours.

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

See what we have captured this last year, and let us know what kind of vibe it gives you!

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 @ DDG Europe 💚

Annick van Arkel knows that in a world of 150 projects a year, it’s the personal touch that actually sticks.

Based in Amersfoort, Annick is a true creative who doesn’t sit still. When she isn’t navigating complex logistics for our clients, you’ll find her mastering everything from ceramics to nail art, or practicing her French. She brings that same maker’s mindset to every campaign she touches.
She doesn’t just deliver a gift; she builds a relationship.

One of her standout projects involves the onboarding for IVO Rechtspraak. It’s the perfect example of the DDG approach: working closely with lovely people to deliver something that leaves an imprint.

For Annick, the DDG Difference is all about flexibility. It’s the ability to act quickly and think alongside a client to ensure a campaign feels impactful and tailor-made, never off-the-shelf.

Whether she’s exploring the industrial energy of the NDSM Wharf or diving into a new creative hobby, she knows that, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽 𝗲𝘆𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹.

#003 - Wild Venue Wednesday
The Freud Museum London, United Kingdom

When we speak about Wild Venues, London directly pops up in Jearina’s head. Everyone either has been or has heard of the amazing event-ready venues central London has to offer. Some our quite obvious, however, this Hampstead gem seems to be hiding in the unconscious of London’s event scene, and it’s time we brought it to the surface.
Meet the Freud Museum London.

Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis and the man who made “tell me about your childhood” into a whole profession, spent most of his life in Vienna, where he developed his known theories on the unconscious mind, dreams, and human behaviour. However, in 1938, at 82 years old and battling cancer, he was forced to flee Nazi-occupied Austria. Thanks to his friend Princess Marie Bonaparte, who literally paid a ransom to the N***s to let him go, Freud and his family escaped to London, bringing his entire study, his library, and his iconic psychoanalytic couch with him. He spent his final year at 20 Maresfield Gardens in Hampstead, where the museum stands today.

Not the most conventional venue on this list, and that’s exactly the point. The Freud Museum is the kind of place that makes your guests stop, look around, and actually talk to each other.

The main spaces can host up to 60 people lecture-style, and the dining room fits 35 guests around round tables. But the real star? The garden. A beautiful, serene escape that feels worlds away from the city, perfect for those spring and summer events where the last thing anyone wants is to be stuffed inside four walls all day.

Wild venues aren’t just about unusual spaces. They’re about creating moments people actually remember. The Freud Museum does exactly that, and unlike most venues, this one comes with 150 years of stories already built in. Sometimes, the best events start with a little digging into the unconscious 😉

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 @ DDG Europe 🧡
We’re doubling down on the celebrations this week.
Not only did she just blow out the candles for her birthday, but April 1st marked her one-year anniversary of bringing that signature DDG energy to the team.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 @ Stacey Bartlett

Living in the sunny Algarve with her two kids, she’s mastered the art of balance, whether she’s navigating the logistics of a secret agent-themed takeover in London and Munich or practicing her Portuguese on the padel court.
𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀; 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

For her, the DDG Difference is about moving beyond being a service provider to becoming a true extension of our clients’ teams. When she’s on-site, she’s not just executing a plan, she’s owning the success of the moment as if it were her own.

From captaining softball teams to orchestrating bespoke spy-themed cocktails and red carpet arrivals, she knows that,
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Do you feel it too? ☀️

Now that the sun has started to shine again and you can taste the first hints of spring, our minds are officially on 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑!

Last year, we took over Strandzuid/Zuidpool, Amsterdam to host the great Summer BBQ for Microsoft.
It wasn’t just a burger and a beer, it was a full-on production that set the gold standard for internal events.

The “Microsoft Summer” Snapshot:
𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫: A live music boat and actual acrobats in the water (living up to the Strand Zuid name!).
𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝: High-energy dancers, artists, and professional body painters.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐛𝐞: Competitive team games paired with a food and beverage arrangement that genuinely stunned.

Mid-year events are the ultimate “𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭” to keep the momentum high. Whether you want to make a splash with water stunts or keep it chill with world-class catering, we build the vibes from the ground up.

Want to see this happen for your team? Let’s start building now so your summer social becomes the 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 @ DDG Europe 🧡

We are thrilled to officially begin to introduce our team, so here is Jasmijn Dirkse, driving our commercial marketing.

While she’s stepped into this role with a fresh perspective, she’s actually been part of the DDG story for over 15 years. From packing a thousand Christmas boxes as a teenager to where we are now.
She’s seen the industry evolve from the kitchen table to the most iconic venues in the Netherlands.

For her, it’s about the 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, creating strategic, high-impact experiences through DDG Event Marketing, Promotions, and People.
She knows that when we handle the operational precision and the “wow” factor, our clients can focus on what truly matters: building their own empires.

Another day, another fair!

2 weeks ago, we’ve shifted gears to at the RAI Amsterdam. For Lara Oud & Jasmijn Dirkse, it’s been an excellent Day 1 checking up on our clients and engaging with the latest participants in the cloud-native ecosystem.

Mariana Amaral & Nadine Kuijper had the pleasure to help the PagerDuty team and see so many innovators in action in the space. The atmosphere across the exhibition floor is truly impressive.

If you’re attending the show, we hope we managed to cross paths; if not, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect!
