The Seagriculture conference has built up a solid reputation as the leading conference for the Seaweed industry, the Seagriculture conference in Europe has been successfully organised since 2012. The USA edition is supported by the state of Maine and comes in addition to the European conference which takes place every year in another country in Europe (in 2022 the Seagriculture Conference will be

held in Bremerhaven, Germany). The online Seagriculture Conference, which was held in September 2021, was attended by more than 180 specialists (more than 130 companies) from 27 countries. Seagriculture 2022 USA gathers top speakers, who will share their know-how within seaweed for feed, food, offshore cultivation, biorefinery of seaweed and much more. The two-day program will go into the many different applications of seaweed that exist now and will combine plenary sessions with interactive poster presentations, trade shows and debate sessions, among others. We’re thrilled to welcome Annelous Oerbekke, Hatchery and R&D Manager at Nordic SeaFarm (Sweden), to the Seagriculture EU 2025 stage!

Annelous brings over a decade of experience in the seaweed sector and has been at the forefront of one of Europe’s most exciting innovations: scaling up Ulva cultivation at sea. 🌿 Keynote Announcement – Seagriculture EU 2025 🌿

We are excited to welcome Annette Bruhn, Senior Researcher at Aarhus University, Department of Ecoscience (Denmark), as one of our Keynote Speakers at Seagriculture EU 2025 in Rotterdam!

With deep expertise in macroalgae cultivation, Annette works at the forefront of emission capture, circular bioeconomy, and sustainable marine resource use. Her transdisciplinary approach bridges biological oceanography and macroalgae ecophysiology — always in collaboration with authorities and industry.

Annette is also co-founder of AlgeCenter Danmark and the Nordic Seaweed Conference, and leads the Marine Bioresource Platform at the Aarhus University Center for Circular Bioeconomy.
