Since I was a little girl (which was quite some time ago!), I have always dreamed of becoming a trusted wedding planner. It is an honour to support couples on their big day. However, if I’m honest, combining my officiating skills with planning duties is overwhelming. So, I focused on being an on-the-day wedding coordinator.

➡️What is an on-the-day wedding coordinator?
Unlike a wedding planner, who typically begins working with couples 4 to 10 weeks in advance, an on-the-day wedding coordinator spends about 20 to 30 hours preparing, including the day. They manage any challenges that arise and take care of issues before you or your guests realise it: there’s always a master plan A, B, (C, D, E, F, G, etc.)

With temperatures rising, it’s important for couples, guests and the celebrant to take care of ourselves during the warm weather. If you're planning an outdoor wedding this year, here are some tips to help you stay cool:

1. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep yourself feeling great.
2. Host a Late Afternoon Ceremony: Plan your ceremony for 4 PM or later to avoid the midday heat.
3. Choose Lighter Attire: Wear breathable clothing (linen & cotton) and footwear (stylish sandals or shoes).
4. Seek Shade: Use a sun umbrella or stylish fan to stay cool.
5. Move Indoors: If it gets too hot, consider moving the celebration to an air-conditioned venue.
