The Epok epok and curry puff is not the same?
Epok epok came before curry puff, most probably . Inspired by the portuguese empanada in the 1500s in the Malay Peninsula.
While curry puff was created in Singapore to placate British palates that brought over the Cornish pastries and were served by Indian cooks .

In cup shaped dessert still piping hot from the oven with edges slightly burnt and a centre that is a soft creamy custard.

Some may know this dessert as Bingka Bakar or Kuih Kemboja but in my house, it’s Kuih Bakar Pandan.
Kuih Bakar is sure a hit on any occasion. Following my mother’s secret ingredients andmethod, with a baking pan instead of the traditional flower shaped moulds which I don’t have them on hand. 🙏🏻😁 DM for mor info.
