During the opening of World Pride Amsterdam at Vondelpark, our founder Mayda had the opportunity to meet 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮́𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮 at Pride Park.

Her warmth, charisma and genuine interest in the people she met, as well as in learning more about ALMA, made the moment even more memorable.

To be part of such important celebration already means a great deal to us, meeting Queen Máxima was the cherry on the top!

Last Saturday marked the beginning of an important project for ALMA Catering: World Pride Amsterdam 2026. 🏳️‍🌈

The opening was at Vondelpark, and while the park filled with music, celebration and community, an incredible team was working behind the scenes to make it all happen.

Production teams, organisers, technicians, volunteers, security staff and many others work long hours to create the experience the public ultimately sees. Our role is to take care of those people through reliable service, thoughtful menus and a catering operation that keeps running throughout the day.

Being part of Pride is important to us as it also reflects values that are central to ALMA: inclusion, care, community and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.

Vondelpark was the first location in a wider catering programme across Pride Amsterdam and WorldPride 2026, and we are proud to support the teams bringing this global celebration to life.

MEET MAYDA 👩🏽‍🍳
The heart behind ALMA Sustainable Catering.

For Mayda, food was never just about eating.
It was always about connection.

Growing up, food meant gathering. Sharing stories. Creating moments that stayed with you long after the table was cleared.

That feeling is what she carried with her when she began her journey at the Centro de Estudios Gastronómicos (CEGA) in Caracas, and what continued to guide her across Costa Rica, Mexico, California, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Amsterdam.

Each place added something new, new flavors, new perspectives, new inspiration.
And slowly, those experiences became ALMA.
