For Metten the momentum increases and the beats roughen up as we prepare for a nocturnal dance. The opening track by INTe*ra builds up slowly from the bubbly synths to the piercing bass stabs, glued together with the smooth rides on the high end of the spectrum. The kick finally lands in the form of the breakbeat in 'Presence' by Heiko Laux on his celebrated Kanzleramt imprint. The follow-up track by Modus sets the pace for the remainder of the mix with its bass-heavy and wonky four-to-the-floor rhythm. The dusty grooves of two decades old techno workouts are mixed with the modern interpretation of this fundamental genre. This is well illustrated by Ben Long’s remix for Paul Mac that carries strong peak-time energy, which transitions into Surgeon’s new release on Ilian Tape, the vibrant label of the Zenker Brothers, showing that after three decades of producing he is still reinventing himself. This vinyl only set merely lasts for about an hour, meaning it can be considered as only a small snippet from an actual club night, a night that is missed deeply at the moment. When mixing these records, I felt the joy that these nights have brought me, and I hope that this feeling will be shared by you. Play this recording out loud and lose yourself to dance at home.

Menke Felix presents The Name Of The Rose, a trilogy of mixes that each capture the spirit of a particular moment and which combined form a night out in its completeness. The title is borrowed from the historic novel by Umberto Eco in which life is lived according to a set of canonical hours belonging to particular times of the day accompanied with its prayers. Using the same titles, the mix trilogy describes the different moods and energy that pass by when going out for a dance, an experience that is highly missed at this moment. Settle for the sunset with the careless and soulful ambience of Vespers. Dive into the deep and electric darkness of dancing at night with Metten. Leave the nocturnal haze behind as the first sunrays brighten the early morning with Lauden.
