HYPOCRISY

A life was taken. Whether as a byproduct of meat consumption or solely for its skin is unknown.
How hypocritical it is to feel guilt now, only because this skin still carries beautiful hair—while other animals are slaughtered in unimaginable numbers every day, turned into leather goods, whether as a byproduct of meat consumption or not.

How hypocritical it is to live a life that harms others. But in our modern society, is it even possible not to?
The plastic we produce ends up in the bellies of creatures that have lived in harmony for millions of years, deep in the oceans.
The gases we emit will damage our skies for centuries to come.

As long as I exist on this planet, I will try to move toward the utopia I long for—no matter how distant that dream may be, no matter how many mistakes I make. I should have done better in this life. I should live as part of my local ecosystem, in balance with the world around me.
I criticize modern society while actively contributing to it.

Rise, rebel, and resist your own hypocrisy just as much as you resent humankind for it.
