Hoe zat het ook alweer?

Alter Ego begon in 2007 met het organiseren van Shoeless feestjes in een Amsterdamse kelder. Daarna zijn de feesten en de organisatie stap voor stap groter, bruter en levendiger geworden. Van absolute insider-feestjes naar groots opgezette cultfeesten waar kracht, kleur en charisma de rode draad vormen. Aangespoord door een bonte club enthousiastelingen organiseren we feesten als Alter Ego Night w

aar je een nacht mag dolen over verschillende dansvloeren, wakker wordt geschud door theatrale voorstellingen in jouw eigen uitgekozen alter ego kostuum. En Daybreak (one room, one set, one artist), waar één artiest een hele zondag lang een mega-solo-set draait (we noemen Acid-Pauli in 2012, Madmotormiquel in 2018, The Sorry Entertainer 2019, Mimi Love & Franca 2020). En als zich een kansje voor doet gebeuren er ook wel eens zaken als het naar Nederland halen van de fameuze Berlijnse Fusion Bachstelzen-crew; die voor het eerst in een Nederlandse club te bewonderen waren tijdens ADE en zich met een eigen area te buiten gingen op Ruigoord...

Last but not least is er natuurlijk Confetteria. Op 1 januari vieren we iedere jaar het nieuwe jaar door een ode te geven aan confetti gehuld in een classy decorum wat ergens terug gaat naar de jaren twintig. An unforgetable blast to the future.

Sweet People of Good Life, we have landed!

What a bombastic, glorious night ⭐️

We have to admit, it felt a bit melancholic to see all our costumes go after guarding them for more than ten years.
But now… it feels right. It feels light.

We want to apologize for the queue. Who on earth came up with the idea to choose a costume before you could enter? We did. Only this time, fewer people were already dressed up (since they could take a costume home), and more people took their time choosing, for the same reason. Totally understandable, but it caused more delay.

As for the future: no more queues! Once and for all, this was NOT the last edition. The next one will be a reunion of all your costumes. More intimate and in a new location.

You people are way too beautiful not to reunite. Really, what a stunning bunch you were, we felt proud witnessing you all. 🫶

All that’s left to say: make the most of your new outfit, and please show it some damn good places.

Thank you ALL for traveling and transforming with us!

Important to understand:

We are not a free theatrical vintage store where you can just grab whatever you like. You can choose something that fits you for the night, and that’s it.

Please select one or at most two items that you’ll actually wear. That’s why it’s important to bring your own basics. There’s enough for everyone, but only if we all stay mindful.

We’ll do our very best to keep an eye on things so people who arrive later still have something to choose from.

And as always, you’re welcome to add something of your own to the mix.

RSS Disco, the cutest trio from Hamburg.
But looks deceive… fire in the disco, Meine Güte! 🔥

Their first Dutch gig was at Shoeless (10 points if you know what that is!), many, many years ago. We never lost track and kept in touch ever since.

We even watched them stage dive. DJs stage diving is a very rare phenomenon. Even more respect.

They’ll close the Colour Flour, so so so, it’s going to be an all-round jumpy closing,

We are delighted to welcome you to this extraordinary edition of ALTER EGO NIGHT.
Together, we’ll give proper goodbye to all the costumes that have served us so well over the years.

With just over two weeks to go, here’s everything you need to know to prepare. Please read carefully, this is no ordinary party.

🎠 Costumes
Every guest with a ticket will receive a costume for the night. You may choose it yourself, and this time you can take it home. Please don’t collect additional items.

🎠 Changing Process
Changing is possible between 21:00h and 01:00h. Arrive on time, as the process can take a while, and others will be waiting for their Alter Ego too. Upon entry, store your bag, jacket, and most of your clothes in the lockers before selecting your costume. Our stylists will be available to guide you in finding the perfect look.

🎠 The Experience
Once your transformation is complete, step fully into your Alter Ego and explore, there is more to discover than you might see.

🎠 Program Highlights
21:45 — A Toast in the smaller room, with a performance by world-renowned cellist Lisa Strauss.
00:00 — Opening Show (sharp!).
00:30 — Doors close. Entry will not be possible after this time.

🎠 Important Notes
Treat the handpicked costumes with respect. Even though you may take yours home, they deserve care.

She was rushing through her clothes racks, searching for the “perfect” outfit. Determined to awaken her alter ego, whoever that might be. Time was ticking and then… bang boom! There it was: the Flamenco dress! She slipped it on, a perfect fit, a true match. And the magic began. From that moment, she spoke Spanish the entire night. Not a word of Dutch until the dress came off 💃🏿
