Okay, so to make the Sad Punks a little less sad after having to cancel tomorrow's party, we needed to think back on yesterday's HemelTranceVaart by Dutch Acid Family. It was a heck of a good one and we both realized we didn't go to HemelTranceVaarts for many years... So I was looking at Bliebs unmatched party video collection and found HemelTranceVaart 2010 - only a few months before we got together as a couple. Our long time friends may spot us both (and maybe themselves!) in this video, funnily enough we didn't encounter each other on this party, even though it was a cosy one and I know for a fact we already had some overlap in friends there.

Thanks to the DAF for being a steady force for so long, always delivering and some extra thanks for creating the space for a little faster, little darker psy during this year's edition and inviting Goa Punks (psychomeiko) to close the stage. 🔥

Also, Blieb, thanks for all of your documentation, it's so good to refresh our memory every once in a while, because without the videos we probably would have forgotten a lot of details of 'unforgettable' parties a long time ago already.

This is truly very unpleasant news to deliver, but we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s party.

We had serious doubts, but ultimately feel there are too many risks involved. There is currently an emergency ordinance in effect for the entire area adjacent to the venue (https://www.wijdemeren.nl/nl/Nieuws/2026/Mei/Noodverordening-en-veiligheidsrisicogebied-na-ernstige-ongereregelheden.html), which means that all cars entering Loosdrecht are being checked. Apart from that, there is still a lot of tension surrounding the temporary asylum seekers' accommodation, which is admittedly located on the other side of Loosdrecht, but there is also a risk that people might find out that there is a lot of 'leftist scum' at a party and go there. We also heard these concerns from the studio owners of the venue.

Until an hour ago, we were quite sure that we could still advise people to come to the location via the other side (the direction of Utrecht) so they wouldn't have to go through the high-risk security zone, until suddenly we received some news that took us by surprise and we will need to take some time processing it.

I’m sad, because I haven't celebrated my birthday in years and was really looking forward to it. I had put together a truly special line-up that I hoped to dance to for the entire party, and sweet, dedicated volunteers who were looking forward to it too, and friends who normally don't come to parties that often anymore who had promised to come… But it is simply impossible to start setting up tomorrow with a negative mindset and underlying stress about the venue.

We hope you understand, but I think y’all will. 💞
