Hello! We are the curating team of the “Echoes of Nothing”season 2025-2026. We hope to bring to you a variety of ensembles and musicians, all offering something exciting through the pre-concerts at . It is November and the Echoes of Nothing series is back with a new iteration of exciting and adventurous programs.

To start the season pianist, keyboardist, composer and conductor Hania Derej will perform some of her own music for piano and electronics.

Hania’s musical personality and upbeat charisma captivated us from the beggining, it will be a program full of energy, followed by Alex Paxton, Enno Poppe and Ensemble Modern in the Groote Zaal of the Muziekgebouw.

Overall an evening where the theme is clear:
Strong personality.

CvA students! We’re looking for you!

The 2025/2026 season is already here, and we’re working hard to curate a wonderful selection of concerts for this year’s edition.

For this we need you!
We’re looking for soloists and small chamber ensembles to perform short format concerts in the Muziekgebouw aan’t Ij.

Echoes of Nothing Concert Series

There’s a silence in-between John Cage's 4’33”, the thus named grand café, and the spatial foyers of the Muziekgebouw. This silence has given rise to the concert series ’Echoes of Nothing’, curated by CvA students Viola Blache, Ramin Amin Tafreshi, Lorenz Rommelspacher. Each edition is linked to a concert in the main hall of the Muziekgebouw and takes place monthly before or after this event at 4'33 or in the open space of the unique building. Upcoming and creative musicians from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam reflect here on the concert with their own artistic ideas, concepts and formats.
