If you are new in the baking industry you have to know your worth and don't negotiate for free or below a profitable price.
Some families and friends don't mind baking free cakes, some will even suggest they buy you ingredients for it.
Baking for free with the hope of future order or to be know will only get you out of business before you even start. Don't bake for free because you are promise of future opportunities. Most of them will go for better or bigger bakers when the time comes. And you risk been known as a cheap baker who will take any price offer.
2, Understanding your Time and Talents.
Yeah! 95% of us started like this, we bake for a friend and we get good remarks and suddenly another friend comes with token to bake for her. That's how your first transaction comes.
One thing you have to know is once you charge for a cake you are no more a amateur but a professional. And there as to be a change of thinking when it comes to your time.
Once you get to this stage start thinking like a serious business owner and set rules for yourself even if you don't charge much for your Cakes.
And if this is not a side hustle you have to think about the cost of keeping the business going.

3, Market Your Business.
Been a great baker is not enough you have to go out there and get customers. Once you get your Business Cards, Equipments, Logo and if possible website.
