YOUR CORPORATE EVENT CAN BE WELL PLANNED AND STILL FEEL DISORGANISED.

The speakers can be excellent, the venue can look beautiful, the food can be on point, and the programme can be carefully planned.

And yet, your guests can still leave feeling like something was missing.

Sometimes, it isn't the programme, but the way the event was managed.

SOMETIMES, THE PROBLEM ISN'T THE CATERING.

And it isn't always the guests either.

Sometimes, the problem is what happens between the two.

Imagine preparing food for hundreds of guests, only for people to start crowding around the serving area.

Someone is asking, “Where do I sit?”

Another person is already in the wrong queue.

Someone else is calling the caterer because they don't know where they're supposed to go.

And suddenly, the caterer who should be focused on serving guests is now trying to control guest movement.

That can be exhausting.

For event planners and caterers, this is one of the things that can make an otherwise well-planned event feel unnecessarily stressful.

And adding more caterers doesn't necessarily solve it.

Having someone stand at the entrance in a nice uniform doesn't solve it either.

What helps is having a team that understands guest flow, communication, positioning and teamwork.

Anyone can put on an ushering uniform.

But wearing the uniform is not the same as knowing how to serve.

At an event, ushers are often the first people your guests interact with. They welcome people, give directions, help manage movement, answer questions and sometimes handle situations before they become problems.

That means the quality of your ushering team can affect the entire guest experience.

So, what makes a properly trained ushering team different?

1. They know how to communicate.

A trained usher understands that it is not just about telling a guest where to sit. It is about speaking respectfully, giving clear information and knowing how to handle different kinds of people.

2. They know how to remain composed.

Events can get busy. Guests may be confused, impatient or demanding. A properly trained usher doesn't respond with frustration. They know how to stay calm and handle the situation professionally.
